Short Bio

July 13, 2010   |     |   nate

I grew up in Alabama, the 3rd child in a litter of 4 (3 boys and 1 girl). Learned the alphabet. Didn’t read much. Played outside and hunted squirrels. Did ok at school but hated writing papers. My dad became interested in traveling. Traveled a lot and acquired a love for travel. Very much enjoyed playing football, basketball, and golf. Of the three, was best at football. Worked out a lot. Didn’t do that great on the SAT or ACT. God opened a door. Recruited to play football at the US Air Force Academy. Played football for one year. Made lots of friends. Majored in Management. Still hated writing papers. Minored in French. Did a summer immersion in the French Riviera. Got better at French. Did a semester exchange with the French Air Force Academy. Traveled a lot. Got more better at speaking french (I know that is incorrect grammer). Acquired a new found interest in entrepreneurship. Developed a business plan for my capstone management course and did pretty well at an international business plan competition. Commissioned into the US Air Force as a second lieutenant. Got a scholarship to get my masters from Sciences Po Paris in “Finance et Strategie.” Chose not to study Political Science because I still didn’t enjoy writing papers. Lived in Paris for two years. Continued traveling. Plateaued in French. Met cool people from all over the world. Selected into the USAF Medical Service Corps. Found working life to be different than I expected. Was disappointed. Did a lot of soul searching. Read a lot of books. Made more friends. Traveled some more. Currently work as a hospital administrator in an Air Force hospital. Somehow became interested in writing..

So I did remember the correct name of your blog – pretty impressed by myself (being modest #fail).
I hope you headed to a decent party yesterday. Have fun in Berlin for the next 2 days and go eat a harrissa cake at Pitzman’s (8 rue pavée, M°Saint Paul)(don’t go on Sundays though – packed like crazy).
